Attain New Heights In Urban Ziplining With The ‘X Line’
Dubai is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and it offers a lot of stuff to for while you are there. The latest attraction they have brought up is a 558-meter zipline above the Dubai Fountains. It is a project aimed to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle through the fun and excitement. If you are headed there anytime and need to let yourself go, this is definitely something to try.
Called the ‘X Line’ project, the new zip line was the set up by Dubai X, an action sports activity organizer in the region. The ‘X Line’ was inaugurated at the beginning of the month by Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as he zipped across the line facing the famous Burj Khalifa.
The starting point is 90 meters from the ground at the top of a long residential building situated along Emaar Boulevard. If you are up for it, you get to enjoy some seriously spectacular views of the city before landing atop Dubai Mall. Dubai X employees say you would be moving at 60km-80km per hour based on your weight.
Right now, residents can participate in social media competitions to win a go on the stunt ride, by tagging three friends on their account. Thirty winners are chosen each week through official invitations. ‘X Line’ has had over 1,000 participants already and the project management team projects four times that before the year is up.
The most appealing trait of ziplining as opposed to other sports is the fact that you get a quick adrenaline rush, especially if you are doing it in an urban setting. A push from one end is all it takes, and you are propelled forward through the air. Some do it for the view, which is unbroken except for their own dangling feet if they happen to be looking straight down.
While setting up a zip line kit at home is a good way to enjoy yourself every once in a while, the ‘X Line’ and others like are nothing short of an amazing experience. It is no wonder that so many people consider Dubai as the new adventure capital of the world.
Wingsuiting, skydiving, and flyboarding are just a few of the other hair-raising activities you can get up to there. The last is still an emerging sport where you use a jetpack attached to a watercraft and move through water and air.
