What is a Zip Line?

What is a zip line? In technical terms, a zip line is a cable suspended at a downward angle between two fixed points. A rider then attaches a pulley to this cable and rides down it. In simpler terms, a zip line is one of the safest ways to achieve an unbelievable adrenaline rush! Often suspended over canyons, rivers or through other scenic venues, zip lining has become one of the fastest growing outdoor entertainment activities not only in the United States, but all over the world. Don’t believe us? Count how many TV commercials feature zip lines now. Do you remember the Geico pig Maxwell, squealing with excitement as he rode the zip line? What about Jerry Seinfeld in the Acura commercial during the 2012 Super Bowl? Oh yes, and Hugh Jackman on the Oprah show in Australia? One of the most recent commercials featuring zip lines is the Expedia: Find Your Courage commercial. Keep an eye out, you will see them.
